2. God uses weak people to accomplish His sovereign purpose. God didn’t look for a man with renowned military skills, who was already a recognized leader in his community and nation. Rather, He picked a weak man who remained somewhat weak through the whole story and who (at the end of the story) finally failed. God is sovereign in the sense that He is paramount and supreme. There is no one higher in authority or power, but that does not mean He exercises His power by controlling everything in our lives. God has given us the freedom to choose. He has a plan for us. He seeks to reveal that plan to us and urge us in that direction, but we choose.
While we may never understand why God allows some of us to go through certain trials, we all can know for certain that God is sovereign and that He loves us through . God’s will is sure to be fulfilled whether we evangelize or not. But we dare not reason this way. Apart from the fact that God commands us to evange-lize—“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matt. )—such reasoning ignores the fact that God fulfills His sovereign plan through human means and instrumentality. Nowhere.
Salvation is not finally in the hands of man to determine. His choices are crucial, but they are not the final, decisive power in bringing him to glory, God’s sovereign grace is. 1. God elects, chooses, before the foundation of the world whom he will save and whom he will pass by and leave to unbelief and sin and rebellion. God’s will is revealed to all believers through His word, and His will for each of us individually is revealed as the events and circumstances of our lives unfold. And all of the events and circumstances in each of our lives have been ordained for us by our sovereign God.

God is not only sovereign among His people and in the land of Canaan, God is sovereign over all the earth and heaven as well. This must mean that God is sovereign over the decisions of the President of the United States, over the laws passed by Congress, and even over the decisions reached by the Supreme Court.
God’s wonderful plan for our life is sober-mindedness, sexual purity, and that we “walk not as unwise, but wise, making the most of our time because the day is evil” (Ephesians ).
God’s plan is that he may be most glorified in us through us being satisfied in him. minds have been shaped by God’s Word and whose lives have been formed in the crucible of suffering.
This book will challenge you to believe that God is truly sovereign, not just in. They are the creation of God, but they also illustrate God’s sovereign majesty over our lives.
Scriptures such as Psalm often relate God to the heavens not because He is so far removed from us as to space, but because in His sovereign majesty He is so high above us in power, nature, and sovereignty. The story of Job assures us that God is sovereign, that He holds the sun, moon, stars, and galaxies in His hand.
Nothing takes Him by surprise and. God’s sovereign power over all his creation and over every one of his creatures is one of the grandest themes through the Bible. And we love to celebrate this magnificent reality over and over on the podcast, so often that it may be a little daunting for newcomers to the theme.
